Launch of the The River - our free digital book

Mackay Historical Society has proudly launched its new website and digital local history book The River: Mackay in The Nineteenth Century by Professor Emeritus Clive Moore.

Mackay Regional Council mayor Greg Williamson did the launching honours which were attended by more than 50 people.

The website has been a long-term project of the Mackay Historical Society, with work beginning on the project in November 2021.

The Mackay Historical Society Committee and its members would like to thank Prof Moore for travelling from Brisbane to attend along Marion Healy who contributed an image gallery to the book.
